Gary LeGore, from the South Central Task Force, will be giving a presentation on the Rescue Task Force concept on Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 1900 to approximately 2000 hours. The target audience for the presentation is fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel. Following this presentation, a brief FCFCA meeting will be held to handle normal FCFCA business. A Rescue Task Force (RTF) is a multi-agency ad-hoc group consisting of law enforcement officers, fire and EMS personnel working together to implement survivor care and removal from the incident scene using Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) principles. The composition of an RTF varies, but should operate with three or four law enforcement officers, and two to four EMS or fire personnel for casualty movement and initial treatment. The goal of the RTF is to remove ALL survivors from the active shooter site within ½ hour (or less) of the event. This timeframe will give the most people the opportunity to survive their wounds.
