Title: Exterior Firefighter
Location: Franklin County Public Safety Training Center
3075 Molly Pitcher Highway
Chambersburg, PA 17202
Description: This program, “Exterior Firefighter” (ELEF), is designed to equip the entry level firefighters with
the basic knowledge, skills, and abilities as they relate to exterior fireground operations. It
introduces new firefighters to basic information including building construction, ladders,
communications, protective systems/sprinklers, forcible entry and fire prevention.
Instructor(s): Clyde Thomas
Prerequisites: Fireground Support
Minimum Age Requirement: 16 on or before the first day of class
Student Needs: Pen/pencil and note taking materials. TOG & SCBA needed the first night
Student Dress: All clothing shall be neat, clean, in good repair, presentable, and represent the department that the individual is representing. Participants are to report in clothing suitable for hands-on training.
